Blood on the August 17, 2008
So there really needs to be a border line set in this article as to what is too high a scale for bood pressure as a good follow on from what is normal blood pressure which is what we discussed in part 2 of this article series.
What’s classed as high?
There is a natural tendency for blood pressure to rise with age due to the reduced elasticity of the arterial system. Age is therefore one of the factors that needs to be taken into account in deciding whether a person’s blood pressure is too high.
In general terms, people with a systolic blood pressure consistently above 160mmHg and/or a diastolic pressure over 100mmHg need treatment to lower their blood pressure.
People with slightly lower blood pressures (140-159mmHg systolic or 90-99mmHg diastolic) may also need treatment if they have a high risk of developing cardiovascular disease, eg stroke or angina (chest pains).
What are the symptoms?
One of the big problems with high blood pressure is that it hardly ever causes symptoms.
This means it may go unnoticed until it causes one of its later complications such as a stroke or heart attack.
Despite the popularity of such ideas, nosebleeds and ruddy complexions are hardly ever caused by high blood pressure.
Severe hypertension can cause symptoms such as:
- headache
- sleepiness
- confusion
- coma.

This video tutorial will teach you how to do some Plyometrics trainning before you start running on any normal or training day. The point of these pre-running excersize is to loosen up your muscles and joints and to get your body warmed up for a good run.
You should always do streches and or warm ups before joggin or running to avoid un-nessacery damage or straing to muslces and joints. its also always best to run or go jogging as soon as possible after you have woken up in the morning for best results.
Heres the video that will explain how:

What is normal blood pressure?
Blood pressure is measured using two numbers. An example of this could be ‘the blood pressure is 120 over 80′, which is written as ‘120/80mmHg’.
- The first figure is the systolic blood pressure - the maximum pressure in the arteries when the heart contracts (beats) and pushes blood out into the body.
- The second figure is the diastolic blood pressure. This is the minimum pressure in the arteries between beats when the heart relaxes to fill with blood.
Because the height of a mercury column is used in blood pressure gauges, standard blood pressure readings are always written as so many ‘millimetres of mercury’, which is abbreviated to ‘mmHg’.
The systolic pressure is always listed first, then the diastolic pressure. A typical normal blood pressure reading would be 120/80 mmHg.

Ive recently been advised that my blood pressure was to high for my age so i looked into what causes it and how to stop it from getting any worse as well as taking the right steps to make it better so i looked on netdoctor.co.uk to find any facts. heres what i found first the facts may shock you a little as they did me.
“
The heart is a pump designed to force blood through our body. Blood is pumped from the heart through the arteries out to our muscles and organs.
Pumps work by generating pressure. Put simply, too much pressure puts a strain on the arteries and on the heart itself. This can cause an artery to rupture or the heart to fail under the strain - in the worst case stopping altogether.
Blood pressure depends on a combination of two factors:
- how forcefully the heart pumps blood around the body
- how narrowed or relaxed your arteries are.
Hypertension occurs when blood is forced through the arteries at an increased pressure.
Around 10 million people in the UK have high blood pressure - that’s one in five of us.”
over the next few articles im going to be covering what can be done to reduce high blood pressure so stay tuned as i will also be going through this myself.

Weight loss on the August 5, 2008

Having tried excersizing myself at all times of the day during my excersising days and even now. The best results i ever obtained were from training in the morning. This is because it kicks starts your metabolism into over drive and lasts through the whole day.
I used to feel really energetic and healthy afterjust a 15 min session in the morning. Also dont forget to drink plenty of water (2 litres) and make sure you have break fast every morning as this helps the metabolism aswell.
It’s best to exercise in the morning. At night, you need to be able to relax and get some sleep. It’s also cooler in the mornings. Plus, on days you may not want to go out to exercise, you can always put on a cd and dance for a song or two instead. It’s physical exercise-the fun way even jumping on the spot would do.

The most effective way to do this is to go over board and rush into things. think how long it took to put the weight on it will take time to take off healthily to. Diets that severely restrict calories or the types of food ‘allowed’ can lead you to be deficient in the nutrients and vitamins that your body to use up these stores of fat. The same goes for people who suddenly start starving themselves. The most effective way to do so leave you feeling disheartened and demotivated, you’re also far more likely to injure yourself and set your fitness levels back further. The same goes for people who suddenly start starving themselves. Not only will the struggle to do so leave you feeling disheartened and demotivated, you’re also far more likely to injure yourself and set your fitness levels back further. For example, someone who has not exercised for years should not rush into running miles a day or pounding the treadmill. Diets that severely restrict calories or the types of food and exercise.
